Frequently Asked Questions About Aspirators

LEARN MORE

  • What is a medical aspirator used for?

A medical aspirator is a suction device designed to remove fluids, mucus, and other secretions when suction is needed during patient care. Aspirators are commonly used in hospitals, clinics, emergency medical settings, and other healthcare environments. Susquehanna Micro offers medical suction equipment to support a variety of clinical and respiratory care applications.

  • What is the difference between a portable aspirator and a stationary suction unit?

Portable aspirators are designed for situations where equipment needs to be moved between locations or used outside a traditional clinical setting. Stationary suction units are typically intended for use in a designated treatment area. When comparing options, consider suction performance, power requirements, portability, and the intended application.

  • What should healthcare facilities consider when choosing a medical aspirator?

Important factors include the required suction range, airflow capacity, power source, collection container size, portability, and ease of cleaning. Facilities should also consider the manufacturer's operating instructions and any application-specific requirements. Susquehanna Micro can help customers compare available aspirator models and their specifications.

  • Do medical aspirators require routine maintenance?

Yes. Medical aspirators should be inspected, cleaned, and maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions. Maintenance may include checking tubing and connections, inspecting filters, cleaning or replacing collection containers, and verifying suction performance. Requirements vary by model, so always consult the equipment's service documentation.

  • Where can I purchase medical suction aspirators for my healthcare facility?

Susquehanna Micro supplies medical aspirators and respiratory equipment for healthcare facilities and equipment professionals. Our team can help you review available models, compare product specifications, and request pricing for your facility's equipment needs.
